At Lara J Designs, we have a deep appreciation for classic design that continues to resonate across time. This year, as we planned our holiday card design, we wanted to create something that both reflected our brand style and colors and conveyed feelings of warmth and nostalgia, calling to mind memories of time well spent with those who matter.
Inspiration for the look of our 2024 holiday card design was drawn from the delicate patterns of antique blue-glazed china and stoneware that often makes a special appearance at family celebrations this time of year. So many of us remember how careful we were when we helped set the dinner table at Thanksgiving and Christmas, making sure not to break any of the fine things our grandparents had kept safe through the years. You can probably tell that we really like the color blue, so we jumped at the opportunity to take full advantage of the shades of blue in our branding to mirror the varieties of blue glazes. We found so many lovely styles and motifs in our kitchens and in our research, but we chose to focus on illustrating elements found in the Lara J Designs logo, birds, and plants. The intricate yet clean illustrations contribute to a finished design that balances timeless elegance and modern simplicity.
To add a personal touch, we paired the holiday card with something close to home: a recipe card featuring Lara & Steven’s grandmother’s well-loved and super moist banana bread recipe. We hope our clients will experience the joy of a kitchen filled with the smell of freshly baked banana bread. We hope they will be reminded of good times that have been and enjoy making new ones.
Together, the card and recipe celebrate the simple joys that connect us. It’s our way of saying thank you to the clients who make what we do so meaningful.

If you haven’t noticed, we really get excited for Christmas! Every year we look forward to spreading holiday cheer to our clients and passersby with our office decorations and our hand-painted holiday windows. After our holiday card design is finished, we create a design for our front office windows to match it and then have a jolly time together painting them and listening to holiday classics. We hope that every time you walk or drive by our office windows, you’ll feel our wishes for joy and peace now and in the new year!
