J.W. Webb is a storyteller known for his epic fantasy series, The Legends of Ansu. Originally from England, he grew up immersed in classic fantasy worlds that inspired his own passion for writing. His Legends of Ansu series has expanded into multiple storylines, each following distinct characters through a richly imagined world of myth and adventure.
Website Design and Development
The Goal
J.W. Webb asked us to design a new website to sell his books, keep his readers informed, and house supplementary material concerning the world of Ansu.
One of J. W. Webb's goals was to be able to sell his books on his own website in addition to online stores, so we integrated e-commerce capabilities in the new site. Another important goal was to showcase the beautiful Legends of Ansu artwork and maps, some of which were created by Roger Garland, a well-regarded Tolkien illustrator. The blog was another important feature of the website, both as a way to keep J.W. Webb's readers informed of new releases and as a way to share the extensive backstory and intricate mythology of Ansu. The website even includes a helpful historical timeline that provides context for The Legends of Ansu series and displays each book alongside the timeline in the relevant period, making it easy to know which book to purchase next.

Custom Business Card and Bookmark Design
We also created cohesive branding materials that align with his overall visual identity. The business cards were designed to to direct readers to his website. They included key information about what could be found on the site along with a QR code for quick access. To complement his work as an author, we also designed bookmarks, which were a fitting choice to accompany his books and provide readers with a practical, branded keepsake.


Social Media Management
The Goal
The primary goal of this social media campaign was to encourage readers to pre-order "Archer's Moon" or to purchase it upon release. Because this new book is part of a prequel tetralogy to the "Legends of Ansu" saga, we also hoped to get new readers invested in the series. Visit J.W. The Strategy
To promote the release of "Archer's Moon," our team started with a brainstorming session. As fantasy readers ourselves, we all agreed that an intricate world and compelling characters were important factors that draw us into a new fantasy series. We then used information gathered through extensive research, such as demographic information and common behaviors of fantasy readers, to decide on a target audience and content "pillars"—important information that would appeal to the target audience. This became the foundation of our strategy.
J.W. Webb's expansive world of Ansu is brought to life through his incredibly imaginative writing and the stunning artwork by Roger Garland (J.R.R. Tolkien's artist!). We were sure to show the depth of Ansu, its rich history, and the relatable characters that call it home. Our team also recorded an interview with J.W. Webb, where he goes more into depth about his writing process. We used these clips to create Reels on Instagram and Facebook. We strategically incorporated a wide range of content types to appeal to a diverse audience of fantasy readers.
The Results
During the 9-month social media campaign, we helped J.W. Webb increase his reach by over 63,000% on Facebook and 414,000% on Instagram. In addition to improving his visibility on social media platforms, this campaign also boosted his website's performance by generating 14,000 new visitors to his website and Amazon store.
